For Grades 5–8

What I Do Next?

Meet ROV-7, an underwater robot connected to a ship by a zipline data cable. ROV-7's job is to prevent, detect, and mitigate an oil leak — but it can only do what you tell it. Type an instruction for what ROV-7 should do next. If your answer is too general, ROV-7 will ask "How?" until you give it a real plan. Stuck? Keep trying — ROV-7 starts dropping hints after a few attempts.

For Parents & Teachers

This game was designed for students in grades 5–8 to build intuition about how real inspection robots handle infrastructure problems: checking similar spots proactively (prevention), using the right sensor for the right question (detection), and responding in the correct order — stop the source, contain the spill, then report it (mitigation). Answers are evaluated loosely on keywords, so encourage kids to type full, specific instructions rather than single words.
